hi! my name is PJ

i’m a junior @ umich studying electrical engineering. i’m also a freelance film producer and builder.

when i was 12 years old, i started my first company where i built lego beyblades and posted videos about them. i was able to scale the community to 30k subscribers on youtube and 15M views. i also made $12k which was pretty cool.

freshman year of college i built a fashion brand and app with some of my friends where i scaled to over 300 users within 24 hours of launch and hit over 300k instagram impressions. we now sell clothing here.

nowadays i’ve been continuing to build communities but focusing towards authentic storytelling. my philosophy is being developed through costoftrying.com. i’m very inspired by creators like farza and simon.

in my sophomore year, i hosted a weekend retreat alongside tmc for over 20 creatively ambitious people to explore their mind amongst others. we explored topics like the beauty of constraint and value of play in an optimized world.

some other communites im working with are v1 and shift.

the philosophy behind my work is and has always been to share peoples stories and connect people together. a look into my brain can be read in my blog.

i’ve worked with numerous artists helping them share their work online. some of my favorites include a debut indie music video (december), a dance choreography for a filipino org (filsoc x vsa fall dance), and a hype video for a startup incubator (v1 hype video).

i also like to code and i’ve worked on some cool projects like this or this and with companies here or here. now, i mainly spend my time learning patterns and algorithms.

i’ve always been pretty adamant about building in public and sharing my work online. here’s a video on why i believe you should too.
